Hello--I too am an avid collector of Barbara Cartland Books. I can't tell you how many I have because my inventory list is packed away due to a recent move. My husband is even getting into them--he hasn't read one yet, but I have him interested in the era. Thanks for the site. I would love to get information on how to get the five videos. If anyone has any input, please let me know. Thanks and happy reading!!!!! Phyllis

Were you dropped on your head when you were a baby? Actually, do you think you can put something about Barbie's life and her achievements and all that? I personally couldn't care less whether she has put out 350 books or 623 - but I need stuff about her for my assignment. Thanks

As a Cambridge philosopher, I am not well aquainted with the fictional works of Dame Barbara. I have nevertheless found her philosophical treatise 'Reach for the Stars' an invaluable text throughout my academic career here. Her rejection of the analytical approach, and adoption of a more free, continental style has led to a paradigm that is reflected in Barbara's life. She has achieved the status of a Nietchian super-being, through her numerous ascents 'to the Stars' as an accomplished aviator', and her indefatigable approach to her art and her private and public lives.
While it is a great pity that her intellectual prowess seems to have been overlooked by the vast majority of Cambridge fellows, I have great confidence that in the decades an centuries to come, she will take her rightful place in history as one of the great luminaries of the twentieth century, indeed of all time.
As Voltaire once said; 'Je parle comme un fou, qui a mange les couillons d'un ours.'
Thank you for providing us with such a super site.
Yours,

I have been an avid Barbara Cartland reader for years and am looking for someone to trade books with. My husband says I read "Anything with words!" but I especially enjoy Barbara Cartland romance novels. Her novels always have an innocence that other novelists can't seem to match. If you live in my area and are interested in trading books with me. Drop me an e-mail.

Hi there!
I wonder if there is anyone out there who can help me? I'm looking for a BC for my sister. She can't remember the name of the book, but the story line goes something like.... Two girls grow up together and are best friends. The rich one launches herself into Society and gets a bit of a name for herself. Her uncle hears of her misdemenours and comes to take her to India. Unfortunately she has fallen in love and is just waiting for her future Father-in-Law to die before she can actually marry. (the Father-in-Law is against the marriage). She begs her poor friend LaTonia to pretend to be her so she can stay with her Love. LaTonia does, and sets off for India with the uncle. The uncle begins to fall in Love with LaTonia, but feels discusted by his feelings (after all she is his niece). Eventually he finds out she is not his niece, and angrily marries her to save her reputation. LaTonia saves her new husband from being poisoned (with chappattis). They confess their love for each other and live happily ever after.
Please if anyone knows the title of this book, let me know!

For those of you collecting BC books, you might want to check out your local Walmart store. I found a book display with about 20 different BC books. The cover pice was $4.99, however, they were priced at 2 for $3. What a deal. That's what I pay for used books . This might be for the valentine holiday only so they may not be around for long.

I have been an avid reader of BC's books since my sophomore year in high school. The first book I read was "Journey to Paradise" and it blasted me away. I found others in the high school library, but I wanted more. Fortunately for me, the public library was their for my use. I practically spent my life at the library, searching and reading BC's books.
I am very glad that there are other people out there who enjoys her books as much as I do. I think I have about 150 of BC's books, and I would be interested in purchasing some of her older books, or even the newer ones. I usually tell friends and family to buy her books for me at x-mas and on my birthday.
I am also interested in buying the movies made from BC's books. Please, would some e-mail back and let me know what the easiest route would be to purchasing the movies. I would appreciate it very much. Thanks Reda, for a great homepage and the listings of BC's books.
Hope to hear from someone soon!

If you order from Net-Megastore in the UK for "Ghost in Monte Carlo"/"Hazard of Hearts", They will be Pal Vhs format which is standard in Europe and will not play on VCRs in the US. I had mine converted for about $15.00 each at a Photo shop near me. Look in the Yellow pages for "Video" and Foreign Tape conversion or duplication. Bev
