Your homepage is wonderful. It is nice to see that there are so many dedicated Barbara cartland fans out there. I have been reading her wonderful novels for over 20 years and have only recently started collecting them. My favourite at the moment is "The Prince and the Pekingese",due mainly to the wonderful Twi-Twi. I was intoduced to the 'royal' breed of dogs by the back cover potrait of Dame Barbara and her beautiful white Twi-Twi and have since owned two of these lovely little dogs, so imagine my delight when I could combine my love of her stories with my love of the Pekingese. A romanatics idea of paradise.

My greant aunt gave me appx. 50 Barbara Cartland papaerbacks that she had collected over the years and I started to read them one by one. Each new book was better than the last and I am now an adoring fan of her novels. I love all the fascinating settings, intriging characters, and enduring purity of her novels. I also love the fact that I learn as I read. She always includes intresting notes about the setting. Thank you for all the interesting information on your web page. It is proving useful in my continuous search as I expand my collection. I believe I now have over 100 paperbacks, all used, but in decent condition. I am always scanning novelty shops and used book stores for her books. It's amazing how many I have found that way.

I just wanted you to know it was great to find that there is someone else out there looking for all of Barbara's books. I don't have anywhere as many as you do, but my mother started me reading them when I was a young girl and I started collecting so my grand-daughters and great grand- daughters will be able to read them also. I love the way she writes not only a romanic book but also has a mystery going on at the same time, I hope she lives another 97 years.
Thank you for your web page.

For some years I am trying to collect Barbara Cartland novels, whitch is not very easy here in Holland. You can only find them on flee markets and in secondhand bookstores. I own now about 75 of her books, most of them in Dutch. I also read them in English and I just orderd two new ones at www.Proxis.com who are selling a few of her novels.
Not only I love reading her books, I learnt a lot of them. About historie, architecture, paintings, fashion and much more she describes. And not oly the historical but also the books about the present time are a joy to read.
One I like very much is "The enchanted moment". I've got it in English and even this is a foreign language to me, I complete got carried away with it. It was as if I was with Sally, nearly burried alive in the secret passage.
It was a thrill to find this site and to read that there are others all over the world who like to read these books, and who not find that they are too goody-goody. I believe it wouldn't hurt if the world was more like a Barbara Cartland novel.

I have been reading and collecting her books for several years and Have 373 different titles that I want to sell. The two boxes weigh more than 80 lbs and UPS estimates that they will cost $52 to send across country. If any of you want to start a collection or add to your own please make me an offer as I do want to them to go to a good home other than mine!! They will only go as a set as they are no longer sorted and catalogued. I will probably list them on ebay or amazon next week-Jan.25th if I don't hear from you.

I have been a fan of Barbara Cartland since I was 12 years old. I have always been a hopless romantic and her books are the most ROMANTIC books I have ever read. After 13 years of marrriage and 4 kids, sometimes I need to escape into my own little world where Prince Charming really does exist. That is when I read a BC book. I own over 300 books and 2 VHS videos. I am desperately trying to locate the other 3 VHS videos. I shop on ebay to try to finish my collection of her books. She is the best. If anyone can help me with the movies, please email me. Thanks.

I think it is absolutely wonderful that you have dedicated this page to Dame Barbara. A short time ago I was fortunate enough to receive a communique from her and her family and I can only say that she lives up to the Heroines in her books She is a most gracious and elegant Lady. It will be a great loss to the world when she is truly gone but, she has left her legacy though her wonderful stories. Like you I also want to have my own personal Dame Barbara Library all the best to you for the New Millennium

I found this page by accident, I was surprised that there are so many others out there who also enjoy BC books. I have been reading her books since I was a teenager. I am now 30. I am also disappointed that it is hard to find her books. Because of this scarcity, I assumed interest had declined in her novels. I am glad to see that this is not the case. :) Happy reading!

I have been collecting Barbara Cartland books since I was a freshmaan in high school. I probably have close to 500, most are paperbacks.
My mother and I have worn out two copies of "Love Leaves At Midnight and the Wicked Marquis.
We have seen all the made for tv movies, although I don't have "The Flame Is Love" anymore, with a young Linda Blair and Timothy Dalton, because the tape wore out.
My favorite has to be Marcus Gilbert. He can rescue me anytime!!!
I understand that the US versions of her movies are "watered down" for content and the UK, European versions are very racy. Could you confirm that??
I love your site and the tribute that you have made to such fine author and historian.
Barbara proves that love is not dead and that we should all strive for the love that she talks about.

I'm a big fan of Babara Cartland and I just love her books. I'm eighteen and just started reading her books in July. I have already signed this guest book already, but I couldn't resist writing again to let people know that I'm a fan.
My mother read her books when she was around my age and she still reads her books even though she is 41 years old. But my mother tells me that she can never get bored of her books, which is true because sometimes my mother and I read books that we have already read.
My mother told me that she used to collect them but when we moved the miraculously disappeared. But there is one book that she told me she still remembers but doesn't know the title. In the book I think it's a Duke or a Marquis that is arranged to be married to this young girl. If I recall the young girl knew she was arranged to married to the Duke/Marquis and became depressed. She and the Duke/Marquis were to meet for the first time at the engagement party or marriage but unfortunately she embarrassed herself by falling over and when she glanced up to see the Duke/Marquis reaction, he was disgusted at the scene she caused. She was so embarrassed that she ran away and did not want to marry the Duke/Marquis. She decide to work at a place that was like a Library on one of the Duke's/Marquis's estate. She became interested in books and read and read that she no longer was depressed. She lost her weight and became slim which also bought her natural colour of her hair back. The Duke/Marquis returned to his estate and met her but didn't recognized who she was. He fell in love with her but he could not marry her because he was already married/or about to get married to someone else (which is the her), I think then she decides whether or not to him who she is. Well if anyone knows this story please tell me the title of the story.
Well before I go I'd like to thank Barbara Cartland for her books because it's because of her that my mother saved my sister's life. My sister when she was young choked on a marble because she thought it was a lolly. Mum knew exactly what to do because in one of the Barbara Cartland's books there was a similar situation where a baby choked on a stone. Mum did not hesitate and just grabbed my sister turned upside down and gave her a smack on the back twice and the marble came out. My sister still remembers that day and she will never forget it! My sister now reads her books!
Well sorry for taking up your time! But it is something that I wished to share with other Barbara Cartland fans! God Bless

Charming site! I am a 39 year old lady who still enjoys reading of traditional, old-fashioned romance, with pure, innocent, beautiful young ladies and dashing, sophisticated gentlemen. I still long for chivalry, valor, courtesy and respect, and Dame Cartland's novels allow me to dream of a world with them. When you start out as a young girl loking for a prince on a white horse (literally), it is terribly difficult to lower your sights! Dame Cartland's signature pink dresses and her interest in vitamins and honey, are lovely. She is a unique and marvelous lady, and may she continue writing for years to come! Best Regards, Jan

As a fan you may be interested in a site I have built in support of Child Flight. This is a British registered charity based at Manchester Airport which specialises in sending children with life threatening conditions overseas for essential medical treatment & therapy.
The site deals in celebrity cheques at auction.
I contact you simply to let all BC fans know that Dame Barbara has supplied a cheque on her personal Coutts & Co bank account which is still available at it's reserve price of just Ł5GB. The cheque is framed and makes a superb and original item of memorablia.
If you are interested then please view the site at www.btinternet.com/~p.killick Maybe it would make an original Christmas or birthday present.

Well - I don't know about anybody else, but what I love best are the "notes" at the beginning of each book (just where does she dig these things up?!?!?!?!) And after years of facing jibes about my collection (and pointing out that they are better than Mills & Boon)I can now point out this website and smile sweetly. Good website - and great to meet so many other fellow fans. I must admit, however, I prefer the books to the movies (and was reading them long before the movies came out)

I now have over 300 of them and each one is precious. However, being military several of my books got lost either by friends not returning them or during moves.
